THE IMPLICATIONS OF POPULATION AGING ON LOCAL HEALTH CARE EXPENDITURE: A 22-YEAR PANEL DATA ANALYSIS

چکیده

The purpose of this study is to examine the implications population aging on local health expenditures in South Africa. A balanced panel annually observed observations from Africa over period 22 years (1995–2017) was used. used gross domestic product (GDP), expenditure, labor force, and age structure as control variables pooled OLS, fixed effect, random effect tests estimate relationships among variables. results show that old-age dependency ratio, unemployment rate, value added (GVA) are all explanatory related healthcare spending shown a base model OLS. indicate expenditure ratio have positive relationship Considering for policy, suggests African economy should account when policies designed government make an effort improve system order meet demands elderly people.
